Purchased a 2012 RT over the internet. Flew from Houston to San Diego where Alberto picked me up. Upon arriving at the dealership the bike was even better than the pictures. Home and Alberto were great! They had me on the road back to Texas in an hour or so. Great people make a great company. Loving having a boxer again. Thanks again for all your help.

I recently had my 2020 R1250RT in for the brake caliper recall service. As always with the service Department, I was treated very well, and the work was done quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly. The new Brembo calipers look good and I love the feeling and power of the new calipers - didn't expect such a difference, but they are notably better than the original Hayes' calipers. Thanks much.

Dropped off my 2016 S1000XR for scheduled service and new tires. All completed on time and on cost estimate. No surprises! Thanks to Troy, Mark, and staff for the attention to detail and professional care. Don

I bought a 2020 R1250RS yesterday: the experience was excellent. From giving me an impromptu test ride through closing, everything was calm, fair, and professional. Duane and his team really could not have been better. It's a great place to get a bike. (And the bike itself is magnificent.) Highly recommended.

Scott Coakley just sold me my 6th BMW motorcycle from San Diego BMW motorcycles and was very professional as he has been in the past with all my purchases. He guides you through the process and points out details sometimes you don't think of that are very important. His expertise and knowledge are surpassed by none and always goes out of his way to make you feel like and old friend or family. Kudos to Gary Orr's sales staff, service personnel and retail staff for accessories. Everyone is friendly, trustworthy and extremely professional. I will always highly recommend them to all my friends whether they are looking for sales or service. They are the best!

To any Traveler in the San Diego area i would highly recommend these guys!!! My story kept short was some time ago 2013 Yes i know a little late but better late than never. I was RVing with my 1600 GTL in tow in a covered trailer from WI. in January to my daughters in Encinitas CA. For a trip we planned for a year. Upon opening the trailer (one of many) to check things out i found the GTL laying to one side when i discovered on side of the handle bar was broken due to my ignorance I had ratched down by bars like i always did with the Harleys and broke the casting. I stopped in after calling them and they special order overnight moved my bike in a head of some other routine service bikes had me up and running with in two days. Todd was my service rep then,he even had it replaced under warranty. To replace it was a major job. I was very impressed on the work and the outstanding service i received. I meant to do this when i returned home and never remembered. Today day after Thanksgiving I was cleaning out a desk drawer and came across my note and thought no better time than Thanks giving to give thanks to them. Safe and happy trails.

I had been looking for a 2016 BMW GS Adventure for months and do a lot of online shopping as I live in Durango Colorado, perfect GS country. I found the perfect bike on the SD BMW web site, and was concerned it would sell before I could complete the credit application and submit my deposit. Eduardo in sales was excellent to work with a help seal the deal. I highly recommend SD BMW and Eduardo. Thanks

I am probably not the typical customer for SD BMW. I have an older airhead that I have modified and do all of the service at home. My purchases are limited to parts and accessories and I get to drool at the R Nine T when I am in the facility. The new remodel is really impressive and the employees are always super nice and helpful. I get the e-mail for upcoming events and havent been able to attend, but am always impressed by the outreach and level of activity with this business. Nice job!

hey!
i moved to san diego last year for a job and brought my '13 1200 GSA (oil) with me. just clicked over 12K so it was time for that service. it's so expensive that i wanted to do a few things myself to save $$$. Ty and everyone at the service desk set me up perfectly for that and didn't give me any attitude at all about wanting to do the easy stuff myself. Totally helpful every step of the way.
then it seems the tech who did the service on my bike noticed that, somewhere buried deep inside the engine, a crush washer was not doing its job (i still don't understand what it was). it's an easy fix but time consuming, as apparently one needs to get through many engine parts just to replace a tiny crush washer. my point is that my bike was still just barely under warranty and a lazy tech could have just let that go and let me deal with it if/when i started to notice a leak somewhere down the road. i had not noticed anything at all up to that point.
fist of all, i'm impressed the tech (who's name i don't know, unfortunately - don't have the paper work with me at this writing) caught it; secondly, the part of me that's cynical about the world is amazed they pointed it out so it could be dealt with through the warranty instead of my wallet. AND the guys at the desk had to squeeze me in to make the repair happen before i left town. they could not have been more helpful.
i am utterly impressed with the service desk and the mechanics doing the work at SD BMW Motorcycles. it's nice to feel i'm dealing with an organization i can trust.
thanks to you all.Marco Barricelli, San Diego, CA -
I am traveling on a long road trip, & called the service department to ask if I had new tires for my BMW K1600GTL drop shipped to them, would they be willing to mount them? They said yes, so I had the tires shipped to them. After they arrived, I called & made an appointment to get the tires mounted. After the work was done, Brandon Bennett from the service department came & told me there was a small problem that needed to be addressed. He showed me where the mounting machine had slipped, & put a small mark on the rim. It marked the finish, & would be a problem in the future if it was not addressed. He offered to have me drop off my bike in a few days. They would remove the rim & send it out to be repaired. He offered to give me a loaner bike for the two to three days the repair would take. I had access to a car & a pickup, so the loaner would not be needed. We made an appointment for a few days later, & I went back to a friends home that I was house & dog sitting at while my friend was out of town. Brandon called me an hour later with another plan. He asked me if I could bring the bike back the next day. I said yes, & he told me they had a new K1600GTL that just came in, & he would swap that rim for mine, send mine out for repair, & put my old rim on the new bike. That was done the next day. He also did not charge me for the mounting of my new tires, & that would have been a charge of about $175.00. I owned several small retail businesses over the last 30 years. I had to deal with customers 6 days a week, & tried to keep them happy, & that is what customer service is, keep the customer happy, & coming back. The service at San Diego BMW does that, in spades. Thanks to all of you.

On the few occasions that I've taken my 86' k75c in for service (big jobs that are either to big and/or complicated that I can't do myself). I've taken it there because of the professionalism and speedy service.

This was the BEST experience I ever had purchasing a motorcycle!
Scott, the salesman was extremely courteous and he actually took his time and helped me during the all process!
I purchased a used F 800 ST, and I was treated as a K 1600 GTL buyer!!
Thank You Guys!!
I will see you again soon.Adrio Ritelli, San Diego, CA -
Ed Bell, as usual, knows his products and has a great selling style that exudes confidence, both in his products and himself, and in conveying that confidence over to the customer. I know the BMW motorcycles pretty well, but Ed told me things that I was not aware of and helped me make a better decision (towards BMW, of course). I've purchased my other BMW bike from San Diego BMW and had no regrets then, and none now in repeating the purchase from this dealership. I am very, very satisfied with this purchase.Warren Young

On Sunday, 4 May 2014, the drive shaft on my 2007 R1200 GS began rattling 17 miles south of Tecate, MX. We'd just completed two weeks in Mexico & Baja, thankfully not breaking down days earlier. Fortunately (and without additional damage) I was able to cover the remaining 55 miles to San Diego. And even though San Diego BMW was closed on Sunday, Service Manager Brent Rackstein responded to my request for service within an hour of hitting the send button. He explained his technicians were not due in till Tuesday but he'd try to arrange for one to come in. Chris, an absolute gifted BMW certified technician had the bike broken down by 10:30 AM, Monday. Sure enough the drive shaft was bad & by noon Brent arranged for a drive shaft to be over-nighted from Stockton, CA. By 4 pm Tuesday Chris replaced the drive shaft, a broken gas cap and the rear sprocket and I was on my way. Brent & Chris dropped everything, went out of their way to get me back on the road to San Antonio, absolute world class customer service. As I shared with Brent it is the service department which guides my decision where to buy my next bike, San Diego BMW Motorcycles is it. FYI, I introduced myself to my next bike, a beautiful 2014 R1200 GS Adventure. I will be back... Brent, Chris, the entire SD BMW staff, thanks, your professionalism, kindness & hospitality was greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. I've been in dozens of BMW shops but none as user friendly as San Diego BMW Motorcycles.... Let's Ride!

Sincere thanks to all @ San Diego BMW Motorcycles. Cal, Jeff and Edward in Sales and the whole team in the Parts & Accessories Department were especially great throughout the purchase process. I am now the proud owner of a 2014 BMW RnineT and an even prouder member of the SD BMW Motorcycles dealership family. Thank you all for working to keep me calm through the wait list period and your patience and responsiveness at every turn. I look forward to many bright years ahead in our common appreciation for the brand and its history!

I recently purchased a R1200RT. During the purchase I was informed purchasing Wheel and Tire package is a great and possibly a must have option for San Diego. The focus was on how pot holes have damaged the aluminum rims while traveling down the high way. After the quote for the price of a new rear rim I bought the cheep insurance. 3000 miles after the purchase, I a picked up a massive staple/nail in my rear tire and stopped my the dealership that same day to replace the tire with out any notice or scheduling. In my frustration and anger, I forgot about the purchase the the care package during the drive and when I arrived the service rep looked up my information informed me that I had the care plan and got me in right away with out any issues and NO CHARGE! The entire dealership is Top Notch and the people are great. Thanks.

I purchased my 2014 F 800GS Adventure in August of 2013. My salesperson was Paul Contreras. I liked Paul's approach from the get go. He was warm and engaging without being to pushy. He was professional and knowledgeable. He knew the model that i was interested very well. I was so pleased with my experience with Paul, that My brother in-law and i both purchased a bike. I stop in occasionally to look at accessories and clothing, and say hello to your staff. I will purchase again from San Diego BMW motorcycles.

My first motorcycle was a 1971 R75/5 purchased in Europe and shipped back to the States. Back in '72, I rode this bike from the shores of Lake Michigan to the West Coast, running at 90MPH for hours on end through the monotonous flatlands of Nebraska, over the breathtaking high mountain passes of Colorado, and on down through the hot and dry deserts of Arizona and southern California. Had a scary moment rounding a turn in a foggy mountain pass, and hitting a fallen rock right as a big logging truck was lumbering up the opposite way, and another one driving (a bit too fast) over a hill and seeing a dead sheep laying across my lane. And I froze my butt off until I passed through Flagstaff, AZ. But the beauty of the western scenery, with the feeling I was flying through all of it, was my first taste of long-distance solo adventure -- and I was hooked.
For the past 40 years, and while owning a few other dirt and street bikes, I've often thought about owning another Boxer engine bike, and having a few other long-distance adventures. Since moving to California 18 years ago, I kept telling myself, "This year!"
Well, it took way longer than expected to wake up and go buy the bike I've dreamt about. But I finally did it! A new R1200GSW. And without hesitation, I can say it's the best bike I've ever owned.
Paul and Jeff at SD BMW made the buying process easy and painless -- actually, they made it enjoyable. All the guys at the dealership were really helpful. Even taking time to help program the GPS so I could avoid the 5 going north, and take the long route from SD to Anza Borrego, through the back road twisties, up through Temecula and over Ortega Hwy to my home. The bike was flawless, and so was the experience at SD BMW.
I'll be returning to the great team at SD BMW for regular servicing. And I'll be taking the long route to get there. Thanks again, guys!-Anonymous
